• The Three Rivers College Patrons of the Arts Society has announced the schedule for its upcoming 2015-16 season, which will include the return of Russian ballet, a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute concert, Chinese acrobats, two children’s shows, a performance by the Vienna Boys Choir, and more. All shows will be performed at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers campus in Poplar Bluff. Because of the support of donors to the Patrons of the Arts Society, ticket price for each main show will be $10, and ticket prices for the children’s shows in Poplar Bluff will remain $5.   • Long before Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, there was Mark Russell, daring to joke and sing about America’s often absurd political process. Russell will perform his unique blend of political humor and witty satiric songs at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center as the last show in the Patrons of the Arts 2014-15 season.   • Three Rivers College will host “Shall We Gather at Three Rivers,” a gospel choir festival, on Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.  The festival will feature choirs and singers from across the region.   • The Three Rivers College Music Department will host the 24th annual Three Rivers College Jazz Band Festival on Feb. 12, 13 and 14 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers’ Poplar Bluff campus. The festival includes free concerts at 7 p.m. each night, featuring junior high, high school and Three Rivers College jazz bands on Thursday, Feb. 12; Arkansas State University Jazz Ensemble on Friday, Feb. 13; and the 2015 All-District High School Jazz Band on Saturday, Feb. 14. Dr. Joel Vanderheyden will be guest clinician for the Festival and will direct the All-District Jazz Band. Vanderheyden is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Jazz at Jefferson College.
