Butler County 4-H Shooting Sports

May 15, 2015

Butler County 4-H is excited to start new a 4-H Shooting Sports Club that includes archery and rifle in Poplar Bluff. The goal of these projects is to teach safe and responsible use of shooting sports equipment, sound decision-making, self-discipline and concentration. 4-H Shooting Sports promote the highest standards of safety, sportsmanship and ethical behavior.

Each shooting sports club is led by a certified 4-H Shooting Sports instructor who strives to make each meeting fun for the members by incorporating games and competition. Each youth must enroll in 4-H and complete 6 hours of safety instruction.

The Shooting Sports safety training will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, May 30 from 9am-12pm at the Poplar Bluff Gun Club. All youth must be registered online by May 20.

4-H provides a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, promote family recreation and meet other youth from the county with similar interests. 4-H Shooting Sports welcomes all youth ages 8-18. For more information, please call the Butler County Extension Office at (573) 686-8064.
