Oct 03, 2016

The Patrons of the Arts Society continues its 2016-2017 season with “Suthyrn Fryd Frynds,” a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band out of Branson, on Thursday, October 13 at 7 p.m. in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center in Poplar Bluff.

Direct from the Tribute Theater in Branson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Suthyrn Fryd Frynds is a tribute show that highlights the patriarchs of Southern Rock music. You’ll hear the hits of Lynyrd Skynyrd, including Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama, as well as great songs from their musical counterparts like ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Dr. Hook, Molly Hatchet, Marshall Tucker Band, and Charlie Daniels. Poplar Bluff native Jon Sousan and his Tribute band bring the sounds and the sights of classic Southern Rock to the Tinnin Theater.

“This will be the third year that we’ve brought a tribute band featuring Jon Sousan to the Tinnin Center, and every year it’s an amazing, sold-out show,” said Tim Thompson, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. “Sousan and his fellow musicians are so talented that you forget that you’re not listening to the original band.”

Tickets are $10 each and are available online at trcc.edu/tinnin, at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, the college Student Accounts office and at the door as available.

Other upcoming shows for the Patrons of the Arts 2016-2017 season include the children’s show “A Gnome for Christmas” on November 13 at 2 p.m., and the Shanghai Acrobats on December 12 at 7 p.m. For more information on the 2016-2017 Patrons of the Arts season, or to buy tickets for any Patrons show, visit trcc.edu/tinnin.
