Safety for Kids Online

Apr 21, 2006

There is growing concern in America concerning the well being of children who regularly surf social internet sites such as MySpace, or flock to chatrooms on Yahoo, MSN or Excite. There are real dangers for children who are unaware of predators online. A youngster could unwittingly give private information to a criminal, putting themselves and others at risk.

Industrious Kid, a California Based company, is creating a safe haven called Imbee.com, which is geared toward children between the ages of 8-14. All blogs and communication on the site is kept private, making it much more difficult for a child to be preyed upon by those with malicious intent. Imbee required parents to use a credit card to sign a child up for access, even for the free sections of the site.

Another much needed step towards making sure parents know what their children are accessing online.
