Warning: Email Worm on the loose

Apr 12, 2007

Several people have contacted us about emails claiming to be from technical support, regarding expired virus definitions or suspicious activity. The emails also instruct you to run an attached “patch file”. DO NOT open these files. This is a virus which spreads via email. There are several strains of this virus, making it difficult to catch and filter out. The experts at Postini are working to ensure that all the strains are caught. If you receive one of these emails, just delete it.

We will never send you “patch” programs attached to email messages. If at any time you receive such an attachment claiming to be from semo.net support, you can be sure it is not legitimate. If you have any questions, or have opened the file, please contact Technical Support at 573-686-9114.
