It’s the Second Place Winner of Our Two If By Tea YouTube Commercial Contest!

December 09, 2011 – My friends, we are blown away by the talent out there. We have had such a difficult time selecting the winners because they are all that good! Congratulations to our second place winner. Superb! Once again proving Americans are not lazy — quite the opposite.

PRESS RELEASE INFO:
A pair of Poplar Bluff brothers has won second place in a video production contest sponsored by nationally syndicated talk show host Rush Limbaugh whose program, “The Rush Limbaugh Show”, boasts 25-million listeners. Michael and Chris Hibler of Dark Hamlet Video Production Studios submitted their 30 second video commercial for “Two if By Tea” November 13. Two if by Tea is the brand name of a bottled sweet tea Mr. Limbaugh helped develop. Mr. Limbaugh announced Friday, December 9, 2011 that the video taking second place honors was posted on his website.

“My dad was listening to the program and heard the announcement,” explains Michael. “He pulled up the website, hoping to see our video and there it was. A screen shot of me in a Paul Revere costume on Rush Limbaugh’s home page! It’s just unreal.”

“I was in a phone conference with my boss and my dad texted me over and over and left several voice mails,” says Chris. “When I was finally able to check my text messages I couldn’t believe it. I mean, the video was for Rush Limbaugh. Whatever your political views you have acknowledge the size of his audience.”

Mr. Limbaugh wanted to prove that there’s still plenty of imagination and creativity in the US and government assistance isn’t needed to produce quality work. There were only three rules for the contest. The video had to be 30 seconds long and a connection had to be made between our nation’s history and modern times. The video also had to mention Two if by Tea at least twice. Videos were uploaded to YouTube and winners were chosen based on the number of hits. The commercial submitted by the Hiblers tallied nearly 28,000 hits over a two week period.

“We had a lot of fun developing the video,” says Michael. “Friends in the community offered all kinds of support. It’s great to be able to share this honor with them.”

The Hibler brothers recently formed a video production company, Dark Hamlet Studios. Their first project was filming a commercial for the Haunted Depot in Poplar Bluff. It aired during the Halloween season.

The pair is available to put their talent to use filming commercials, weddings and events, music and promotional videos.
