The semo.net Surfers took fourth place in the Rivertown Classic II this weekend in Ste Genevieve against a tough field of 9 teams. On Saturday, the team won their second game with an 8 run rally in the fourth inning (final score 12-4). On Sunday, the Surfers took a six run lead in the first inning. Tristen Francisco took to the mound and pitched a nearly flawless game. Francisco was one out away from a no-hitter when the batter pulled a pitch just over the glove of the shortstop. These two musicians have been performing together since the early 80's. The 6 & 7 year old team sponsored by semo.net in the Christian Athletic League has had a great season this year, finishing the regular season 8-2 in 2nd place and winning 2nd place in the end of season tournament. The semo.net Padres lost 15 - 12 in the Championship game against the Braves on Tuesday night at the First Baptist ball field in Poplar Bluff. The teams played a great game and all their coaches and parents were so proud.
