Center Stage to Perform "Marvin's Room" at Tinnin Center
Center Stage, Three Rivers College’s theater company, will present a production of “Marvin’s Room” by Scott McPherson on October 17 & 18 at 7 p.m. and October 19 at 2 p.m at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center in Poplar Bluff. Tickets are $10, or $5 with a valid Three Rivers student ID.
“Marvin’s Room” is the story of two women, Bessie and Lee, torn apart by their differences and brought back together by their father’s debilitating illness. While Bessie is devoted to caring for her bedridden father, her wild-spirited sister has spent years running from her responsibilities. But when Bessie needs her sister’s help for a life-threatening illness of her own, the two are forced back together in a confrontation that will change them both forever.
“‘Marvin’s Room’ is a great story that I think kicks off the Center Stage season very well,” said Tim Thompson, the play’s director and head of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. “It’s both very funny and very moving, and our cast brings it to life beautifully.”
Center Stage is a blended theater company that brings together students, college employees, and community members to produce live theater. Tickets are available at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce, the Financial Services office at Three Rivers’ Poplar Bluff Campus, or at the door. For more information on Center Stage and the company’s upcoming performances, contact Tim Thompson at 573-840-9648 or email@example.com.
