Duck Calling Contest for Youth and Adults
Ag Expo 2015 will be held January 30 and 31 at the Black River Coliseum in downtown Poplar Bluff. The 29th annual Ag Expo is excited about offering the tenth year of the Duck Calling Contest which will be held for both youth and adults. There are three divisions for competition: age 14 and under; 2-man meat competition; and mainstreet calling contest. The youth division is free and three winners will receive trophies. The 2-man division event will have an entry fee of $20 per team and the mainstreet calling contest will also be $20 per caller with 75% of the prize money going back to the winners. Calls accepted for the 2-man division will include the hail call; mating or lonesome duck call; feed or chatter call; and the comeback call. Teams consist of two callers of any age. The mainstreet calling contest will use the following calls: hail or long distance call; mating or lonesome duck call; feed or chatter call; comeback call; and the greeting call. This division is open to callers of all ages.
Registration for this event starts at 5:00 pm on Friday, January 30 and stops at 5:50 pm with no late registrations allowed. The event itself will start at 6:00 pm.
