Inspiring Brothers - 2012 SI SportsKids of the Year

Basketball season is in full swing; NHL Hockey had an incredible opening weekend; and a made-for-TV scenario has brothers coaching against each other in the Superbowl. Sports are a part of everyday life around my house. During the first snow of the season, my boys had done their fair-share of sledding but then I looked outside and there they were with a couple of other neighborhood boys…playing wiffleball in the snow.
Each year, Sports Illustrated gives out a SportsKid of the year award, this year’s recipients were the inspiring pre-teen Long brothers: Connor and Cayden Long. Cayden has cerebral palsey and as a way for them to enjoy sports together…Connor and Cayden began training for the triathlon.
