Kids Programming Class Starts June 9th
There’s still time to sign up for the Kids Programming Class in June. Your child, age 8 through 11, will learn how to program your computer with the language called Scratch, developed by MIT. Kids can program games like this one developed and designed by Jack Becker:
The five classes will be held at The Bread Company in Poplar Bluff:

If your child (age 8 through 11) is interested in computers and programming, semo.net is offering a class in June. The course will cover the Scratch Programming Language for Kids and will be an entry level course. The class will be taught by Ben, Jack & Brian Becker.
The course will span five, 1 1/2 hour daytime classes and cover installation, programming basics, animations, sprite and object-oriented programming, variables, and sharing your work with the Scratch online community. The course will cost $105 per student (additional students from same family receive 20% discount). Parents are invited to participate for an additional $45. 100% satisfaction will be guaranteed or your tuition will be returned.
All students need their own computer for the class (parents do not need a computer system). semo.net can help find a suitable, inexpensive option if needed – contact brian@semo.net).
The class times will be announced as the course approaches and will most likely be taught on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons in June. To register for the course, please email brian@semo.net.
