Mushroom Networks Partners with Semo.net Delivering Broadband Bonding Service to Midwest Business Class Subscribers
Missouri-based Internet Provider Re-brands Service Under the Moniker Hydra Internet Service Offering Reliable High-Speed Alternative to T1, Frame Relay or MPLS
SAN DIEGO, CA – March 31, 2009 – Mushroom Networks, Inc., the innovator of broadband bonding technology, today announced a partnership with Semo.net, a Midwest Internet provider, to deliver high-speed bi-directional broadband service to its business class customers. Semo.net will re-brand Mushroom Networks’ popular Broadband Bonding solution into its own service offering called Hydra Internet Service. Hydra Internet Service offers business customers the ability to combine multiple types of broadband connections such as DSL, cable modem, or wireless into a single high-speed connection with near 100 percent reliability, download speeds of 10 Mbps, and upload speeds of 5 Mbps all at a fraction of the cost of alternative services such as Frame Relay or MPLS.
“The Hydra is a mythical water creature with several heads making it extremely difficult to kill – and that is exactly the premise of our new offering,” stated Brian Becker, CEO of Semo.net. “By combining several types of broadband access connections into a single high-speed pipe, our business customers can be confident that even in a worst case scenario such as a severed line, their Internet will always be up and running.”
At the core of the partnership is Mushroom Networks Broadband Bonding service. The Broadband Bonding service works in conjunction with the company’s Broadband Bonding product lines which sit at the customer premise site combining multiple broadband Internet connections of various types into a single high-speed link. Utilizing Broadband Bonding, business customers can utilize the high performance Internet pipe to connect with their branch offices, data centers or get generic Internet access for any type of IP traffic including VPNs, file transfers, network storage, and IP based voice and video communications. Because high bandwidth speeds can be achieved bi-directionally, Broadband Bonding service effectively solves the uplink bottleneck commonly associated with other Internet access services.
“The bane of utilizing inexpensive broadband lines such as DSL or cable for business has always been in the uplink direction – put simply, slow uploads makes large file transfers and multimedia applications like video conferencing extremely daunting,” said Cahit Akin, co-founder and CEO of Mushroom Networks. “By coupling our Broadband Bonding technology with a provider’s existing infrastructure and service offerings, ISP’s like Semo.net can capture a whole new segment of business class customers with little or no investment.”
The Hydra Internet Service is available now to customers in the South East Missouri geographical region with prices starting at $500 per month. Because Hydra Internet Service runs along side any service such as T1, businesses can boost the bandwidth rate of their existing broadband plan then switch exclusively to Hydra Internet Service once the duration of the contract is over.
