Three Rivers College nursing students Walter Rommel of Broseley and Kathleen Soriano of Poplar Bluff have been awarded the Louise Shull Medler Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship awards both students funding to cover the cost of the NCLEX-RN licensing exam after the completion of their studies.

The scholarship was endowed in memory of Louise Shull Medler, a Qulin native who worked as a nurse for over 20 years in the Poplar Bluff area. One of the original nurses for Kneibert Clinic, Ms. Medler also served as a staff trainer for the Department of Social Services. Funding for the scholarship was given by the Shull family and friends.

Three Rivers College is committed to contributing to the quality of life in Southeast Missouri with quality, affordable higher education opportunities and community services that support and encourage the economic, civic, and cultural vitality of the region.
