semo.net Surfers take 4th in Ste Gen Tourney
The semo.net Surfers took fourth place in the Rivertown Classic II this weekend in Ste Genevieve against a tough field of 9 teams.
On Saturday, the team won their second game with an 8 run rally in the fourth inning (final score 12-4).
On Sunday, the Surfers took a six run lead in the first inning. Tristen Francisco took to the mound and pitched a nearly flawless game. Francisco was one out away from a no-hitter when the batter pulled a pitch just over the glove of the shortstop. The Surfers went on to win the game 10-1.
They lost their final game of the day to the Ste Genevieve Elks, but their performance over the two days earned them fourth place.
Blakeney Kearbey bombed two home runs over the fence (the second one to dead center and well over 220ft) to help his team on both days. Kearbey also pitched along with Kirby Coleman and Jace Worley.
