Several hundred patrons ate during the Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the Student Activity Center, provided free of charge by Chartwells School Dining Services in partnership with the Poplar Bluff R-I School District.

The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps volunteered to help direct traffic, the Board of Education and administration joined the kitchen staff in serving the food, elementary art students designed the placemats, the Senior High Studio Jazz Band performed, and Student Council offered face painting for children.

Nearly $200 was raised for the Bread Shed and the Haven House in a collection effort spearheaded by student leaders. The Community Thanksgiving Dinner is a long-standing tradition that was established by Chartwells.
