  • WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) issued the following statement today marking the first anniversary of the disastrous launch of the ObamaCare exchanges: "One year after the disastrous launch of the $2 billion ObamaCare website, I continue to hear from families, workers, seniors, and small business owners across Missouri who are facing skyrocketing out-of-pocket costs, canceled coverage, fewer doctors, and job losses. That's because ObamaCare is more than a website with technical glitches – it's a flawed law that needs to be repealed and replaced with common-sense health care solutions." Since the disastrous launch of the ObamaCare exchanges, Blunt has gone to the floor almost every week the U.S. Senate has been in session to share health care

  • by Rachael Herndon JEFFERSON CITY – Missouri may join 6 other states that do not have a state lottery in 2016. Speaker-elect John Diehl announced today that he will be proposing a constitutional amendment that will allow the voters to repeal all state sponsored lotteries as it is provided for in the constitution. “We aren’t being honest with Missourians when we make them believe the lottery funds education. Though the efforts and fundraisers take on many forms, Poplar Bluff’s Artfully Framed owner, Barbara Luke Pelton, has moved the Breast Cancer cause into the artistic realm. “We originally wanted to come up with a way to celebrate National Art and Framing Month, which falls in October,” explained Pelton. Then it occurred to her that October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and she decided to combine the two. Pelton got together with Poplar Bluff’s United Cancer Assistance Network (UCAN), and developed “UCAN Love Art!” Originally, works of art created by local artists were auctioned. After

It is very nice to be sitting back in my favorite chair, surrounded by my favorite people (and dog), and slowly recovering from a wild week down south. However, saying goodbye to the lake, land, people, and food of Washington County, Mississippi was tough! When I last spoke to you all I was just arriving, and marveling at all that was around me, but as I hit “send” (after finally finding a computer hardwired to the world wide web), the seriousness and gravity of the tournament set in, and a fishing we went! Everyone knew the situation, there were six lakes you could fish, one of them was Lake Washington which held the biggest fish, but also the had toughest
