Dunklin County. Shot Fired in Home. One Dead.

DUNKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPT – KENNETT, MO.

At approximately 05:17 hours the Dunklin County Communications Center received a 911 call with reference to a disturbance on DD Highway in the Northern part of Dunklin County.  Deputies responded to the scene and found that a disturbance had occurred and during the disturbance an individual was shot.  The disturbance involved two relatives and resulted when a male subject entered the residence with a knife in a threatening manner.   The male subject who resides at the dwelling shot the knife wielding subject.  The gun shot victim was driven to the Campbell ambulance shed where he was pronounced dead by the Dunklin County Coroner James Powell.  The investigation is ongoing with the investigation being conducted by the Dunklin County Major Case Squad, The Missouri Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control, the Missouri Highway Patrol, The Dunklin County Sheriffs’ Office and the Malden PD.  The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin,DD Hwy

UPDATE 6:49am – Sheriff Holder:

As a result of  a disturbance which occurred at a residence on Highway DD in the Northern Part of Dunklin County, one male subject Travis Phillip Bullock  died as a result of gun shot wounds to his body.  Travis Phillip Bullock and Johnny Mallett whose residence is on Highway DD North of Campbell got into an arguemnt with the argument resulting in Travis Phillip Bullock going into the Mallett residence where he was shot by Johnny Mallett.   No arrests have been made at this time as the investigation continues.  Witness information and evidence collected at the scene will be discussed with the Dunklin County Prosecutor as the investigation continues.
