Rick Smith, director of the city's General Services Department, said crews are working to get the drops connected and to extend conduit to the west side of Broadway Street.

  • After gathering 700 signatures, the Open Access Petition group contacted City Clerks office early last week to be placed on the agenda of the upcoming City Council meeting. According to the City's own website (http://PoplarBluff-mo.gov) any citizen can ask a city staff to be on the agenda.

  • Come out to the Wine Rack on Friday night and enjoy an evening of great music. At 7:30, Ben & Jack (12 & 10 yrs old) will surprise you with their covers of Bruno Mars, Justin Beiber, Train's Hey Soul Sister and originals (yes, these boys write).   • Monster Trucks from all over the country are coming to try and grab a $6000 Mud Run Challenge. Trucks Gone Wild will be there all day on Saturday filming the crazy mud action. Here's a video from Rachel at SEMO Times with Scott from Bricks. Plus, the Outdoor Channel and Colt Ford will be at Brick's on Friday filming for an upcoming show called MudSlinger.   • Message from John McDonough, Scoutmaster Troop 166 Friends, Poplar Bluff Boy Scout Troop 166 has, for several years, been responsible for displaying and caring for the flags that are displayed along our city streets during every holiday and patriotic occasion. Over time our flags have worn out and we are down to only 50 that are serviceable. Therefore we have started a Flag Fund campaign to raise money to purchase 200 new American flags to adorn Westwood Blvd, Business Hwy 60, 5th Street, & Hwy 53. If we can get this funded our scouts would like to have the new flags in place before July 4th so we can show this great town how we feel about our country. At
