  • Ag Expo 2015 will be held January 30 and 31 at the Black River Coliseum in downtown Poplar Bluff. The 29th annual Ag Expo is excited about offering the tenth year of the Duck Calling Contest which will be held for both youth and adults. There are three divisions for competition: age 14 and under; 2-man meat competition; and mainstreet calling contest. The youth division is free and three winners will receive trophies. The 2-man division event will have an entry fee of $20 per team and the mainstreet calling contest will also be $20 per caller with 75% of the prize money going back to the winners.  Calls accepted for the 2-man division will include the hail call; mating

  • Ag Expo 2015 is one of the largest farm trade shows in the region! It is scheduled for January 30 and 31 at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. This is the 29th year of Ag Expo, which is sponsored by Butler County University of Missouri Extension Council and the Ag Club of Three Rivers College. There will be 118 booths available to visit and learn first-hand about agriculture and its importance to the economy.  The expo will also feature outdoor exhibits. Ten thousand people attended last year’s event. Admission is $1 for adults; there will be free admission for college students and youth. The event will be held Friday, January 30 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • POPLAR BLUFF – There is just something about autumn that invites a good scare. Maybe it’s the way the cooling wind whips through the baring trees, whispering in conspiratorial tones. Maybe it’s because you always hear that crunch of leaves, as if you are being followed. Rozette Little, one of the organizers of the event, says Women Aware is designed to help both women and men network with other area business people, sharing ideas and helping to build the local economy through the things they learn from one another.   • Three Rivers College will hold the first annual "Three Rivers Raider Rodeo" on October 2-4 at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. each night, with the rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 12 and under.
