Congress is now pushing a law that would end the free and open Internet as we know it. Telephone service providers are lobbying Congress hard to gut Network Neutrality, the Internet's First Amendment and the key to Internet freedom. Net Neutrality prevents from choosing which websites open most easily for you based on which site pays the telephone companies more. Many members of Congress take campaign contributions from these companies, and they don't think the public are paying attention to this issue. Let's show them we care. There is growing concern in America concerning the well being of children who regularly surf social internet sites such as MySpace, or flock to chatrooms on Yahoo, MSN or Excite. There are real dangers for children who are unaware of predators online. A youngster could unwittingly give private information to a criminal, putting themselves and others at risk. Industrious Kid, a California Based company, is creating a safe haven called Imbee.com, which is geared toward children between the ages of 8-14. All blogs and communication on the site is kept private, making it much more difficult for a child to be preyed upon by those with malicious intent.
