•   The Patrons of the Arts Society continues its 2016-2017 season with “Suthyrn Fryd Frynds,” a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band out of Branson, on Thursday, October 13 at 7 p.m. in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center in Poplar Bluff. Direct from the Tribute Theater in Branson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Suthyrn Fryd Frynds is a tribute show that highlights the patriarchs of Southern Rock music. You’ll hear the hits of Lynyrd Skynyrd, including Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama, as well as great songs from their musical counterparts like ZZ Top, Allman Brothers, Dr. Hook, Molly Hatchet, Marshall Tucker Band, and Charlie Daniels.   • The Dexter Police Department would like to express some safety concerns regarding the new game being played by so many known as Pokemon Go. Our department has received complaints from numerous citizens regarding the Pokemon Go players with safety concerns. Complaints have stemmed from players trespassing on private property during game play, players walking out in front of moving motor vehicles not paying attention to their surroundings while playing the game along with other complaints. The Dexter Police Department worked a motor vehicle accident on 07/14/2016 involving a Pokemon Go player being dragged by a motor vehicle subsequently being transported by EMS to a local hospital for their injuries.   • Today, at Grace United Methodist Church in St Louis, the Memorial Service for Paul Andrew Kidwell was held. As my lovely wife Toni posted on Facebook, "Brian and I said goodbye to a bosom buddy today. It was the hardest time I've ever had singing through the emotions, and I've sung at many goodbyes. In the midst of the deep grief, though, there were sweet reunions with friends gathered in the majestic sanctuary from another era of all of our lives. We shared a love and respect for Paul."   • Center Stage and the Three Rivers College Music Department present the hit Andrew Lloyd Weber musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at 7 p.m. Nov. 12-14 and 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers Campus in Poplar Bluff.
