Source: Poplar Bluff Schools An estimated 70 local vets attended the annual Veterans Day Assembly on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Poplar Bluff Middle School, featuring student interviews with servicemen, essays on Americanism and a special musical tribute led by the Honor Choir. Organized by the counseling department, the Middle School has been hosting a Veterans Day Assembly for the community since 1997.

Source: Poplar Bluff Schools Middle School Junior Beta Club members filled the cafeteria stage with baby care products on Friday, Nov. 13, as a result of the students’ second annual diaper drive for the Child Concern Center of Poplar Bluff. The large donation of diapers and baby wipes represented a two-week collection effort by fifth and sixth graders. A cash donation from students was also made to the nonprofit. The Child Concern Center provides low-income families clothing, diapers, food, utilities and other emergency items.
Nov 17,Source: Poplar Bluff Schools Kennedy Rowland has been elected president, Logan Massey has been named vice-president and Natalie Whitehead – secretary/treasurer for the Poplar Bluff Middle School Junior Beta Club. The election took place during the last week of October. Candidates had three days to campaign, and Betas—about 200 total—cast their votes for the incoming officers, according to club sponsor Cindy Tanner, a sixth grade teacher.

Students who were interested in learning more about Mizzou heard about the process of admissions, programs of studies, and scholarship opportunities.
Nov 12,Source: Poplar Bluff Schools The Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is accepting applications through December 1. One student will be selected as the school’s DAR Good Citizen. The winner will receive a pin, certificate, and wallet recognition card and may choose to enter the organization’s scholarship contest. Each state winner receives an award in the amount of at least $250 and a special state DAR Good Citizens pin and certificate. Each of the eight national division (multi-state groups) winners will receive a cash award in the amount of $500. Two national winners will be invited to Washington DC to attend Continental Congress and will be awarded $5,000 scholarships, inscribed silver bowls and certificates. For
