• Three Rivers College has announced that Kathy Ballard will serve as Director of its Center at Kennett. Ballard, who was the college's Coordinator of Disability Services, is replacing Ann Matthews, who was appointed as Dean of Student Services in July. "This is a great opportunity to serve students of the Southeast Missouri bootheel," said Ballard. "Transitioning from the Poplar Bluff campus to an off-campus center is challenging but exciting. I'm getting to see the different roles of students taking classes close to home." Ballard has been employed at Three Rivers since 1998.   • Three Rivers College's Theater Department will hold an informational session for community members interested in joining a New York Theater Trip at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 21 in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center Auditorium. "This will be the second trip to New York we've done, based off of the rousing success of our first excursion in 2012," said Tim Thompson, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.   • Center Stage, Three Rivers College's blended community/student theater company, has released the schedule for its 2014-2015 season, which will feature selections from both classic and modern theater, including works by Neil Simon, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and John Patrick Shanley. As with all Center Stage shows, auditions will be open to both Three Rivers students and community members for all shows.
