• Three Rivers College will host the third annual Sarah White 5K Run Walk & Play on Saturday, September 6 at 4 p.m. at its Poplar Bluff Campus. The fund-raiser is being held in memory of Sarah White, who lost her battle with cancer but inspired others with her motto, "I Scare Cancer." “Sarah never let cancer stop her or slow her down, so this is a perfect way to honor her courage and her determination,” said Emily Parks, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, which administers the Sarah White Memorial Scholarship. “We’d like to invite everyone who wants to make a difference in her name to come out, have fun, and help keep her scholarship going.” Late registration

  • The Three Rivers College Patrons of the Arts Society has revealed the schedule for its upcoming 2014-15 season, which will include the return of Russian ballet, a Bee Gees tribute concert, Chinese acrobats, musical political satire, and three children's shows. All shows will be performed at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers campus in Poplar Bluff. Because of the support of donors to the Patrons of the Arts Society, ticket price for each main show will be $10, and ticket prices for the children's shows in Poplar Bluff will remain $5.   • Three Rivers College will hold the first annual "Three Rivers Raider Rodeo" on October 2-4 at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. each night, with the rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $7 for children ages 12 and under. "The Three Rivers Rodeo Team has been doing incredibly well at competitions around the country, and we felt like this was just the next step in the team's development," said Cale Emmett, coach of the Rodeo Team.
