Captain David Sutton released a press release at 17:23 today: On 08-11-14 at around 1545 hrs Officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department responded to the 1300 block of West Maud st, in reference to a report that a body was found in a wooded area. The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition; and no cause of death was immediately apparent. Investigators with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Coroner's Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control responded to process the scene.

Ballard, who was the college's Coordinator of Disability Services, is replacing Ann Matthews, who was appointed as Dean of Student Services in July. "This is a great opportunity to serve students of the Southeast Missouri bootheel," said Ballard. "Transitioning from the Poplar Bluff campus to an off-campus center is challenging but exciting. I'm getting to see the different roles of students taking classes close to home." Ballard has been employed at Three Rivers since 1998. A 17 year old female victim reported that she was riding in a vehicle with Terrance Fields (19 years old, of the 1300 block of North 10th st Poplar Bluff Missouri), Demetri Rodgers (19 years old, of the 1500 block of Dawn st in Fayetteville Arkansas), and Steven Moore (23 years old, of the 700 block of County Road 605 in Poplar Bluff Missouri).
