• Kennett -  Three Rivers College will hold an Information Night for its Licensed Practical Nursing program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at its Center at Kennett, located at 1002 Great West Drive.   • LAKE WAPPAPELLO - 4-H/FFA Farm Safety Day was held at the Lake Wappapello Visitor’s Center on October 6, 2014. In attendance were over 400 students, staff and presenters from Poplar Bluff.  Students learned about the importance of safety in both farming and everyday activities. The event was sponsored by Butler County 4-H with the University of Missouri Extension, Poplar Bluff FFA, Progressive Agriculture and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

  • Poplar Bluff - On 10-10-14 at approximately 3:50 pm, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 block of Lester st Poplar Bluff in reference to a Burglary.  A mother was home alone with her three year old son when a white male entered her residence by cutting a screen in a window on the front of her residence.  She armed herself with a golf club and confronted the intruder.  The intruder flourished a knife, yelled, and jumped back out through the window and fled the scene.   The only item taken during the burglary was a laptop computer. Later that evening, a locating device installed on the computer indicated it had accessed the internet from a residence in the

  • On 10-11-14 Anthony Robinson was arrested for outstanding warrants.  At the time of his arrest, Robinson was carrying a backpack with contained several video game disks.  Upon further investigation, Officer Robert Reed discovered the games had been stolen from Wal-Mart. Officer Brandon Hopper positively identified Robinson as the subject wanted for the shoplifting incident reported at Dollar General Store on 10-10-14. Anthony Robinson was booked in on Butler County Warrants for Forgery ($15,000.00 bond) and Parole Absconder (no bond), and two additional charges of misdemeanor stealing.   • Poplar Bluff - On 10/10 at approximately 4:15 pm the Poplar Bluff Police Department received a shoplifting complaint from an employee at the Dollar General Store located in the 2300 block of Cheshire Blvd Poplar Bluff.  According to the report, a white male concealed merchandise valued at $7.85 on his person; then left the store without paying for it.  Still images taken from the surveillance video footage were attached to this email.  We would appreciate any help your readers/viewers can provide in identifying and/or locating this suspect.  Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact Officer Brandon Hopper at 573-785-5776.
