  • “Confluence,” the annual literary journal of Three Rivers College, has received three awards from the American Scholastic Press Association for its 2014 issue. The journal, which is put together by the college’s Languages department, contains poetry, short fiction, and essays written by Three Rivers’ students, faculty, and staff. “We’re extremely proud to receive these awards, especially considering the level of competition,” said Gregory Snell, an Instructor of English at the college and one of Confluence’s coordinators. “We put a lot of work into ‘Confluence’ every year, and it’s rewarding to see it get the attention it deserves.” “Confluence” was one of five university, community college, and high school literary magazines to receive “First Place with Merit.” The award is given

Russell will perform his unique blend of political humor and witty satiric songs at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center as the last show in the Patrons of the Arts 2014-15 season.   • Three Rivers College will host “Shall We Gather at Three Rivers,” a gospel choir festival, on Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.  The festival will feature choirs and singers from across the region.
