• Three Rivers College's Communications Department has won five "Medallion" awards for excellence in public relations from District 5 of the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR). The department earned first place awards for the college's website, a promotional "Graduation Success Stories" video, and the college's monthly "President's Perspective" e-newsletter. It won third place awards for the 2013 Viewbook it produced for prospective students, and for custom-designed signage for the institution's College Store.   • Students and faculty at Three Rivers College are going to “Shake It Out” next Thursday, Oct. 16. No, it’s not a new dance craze. It’s part of a statewide effort to prepare the campus and the rest of the state for an earthquake. Jack Armor, Fire Training Coordinator for TRC says scientists can say with certainty that there is an earthquake in our future in Southeast Missouri.   • Kennett -  Three Rivers College will hold an Information Night for its Licensed Practical Nursing program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 at its Center at Kennett, located at 1002 Great West Drive. The Information Night will give prospective students the chance to apply for the college’s LPN program in Kennett, and cover the requirements for entry into the program and financial aid opportunities. “The medical profession is one of the fastest-growing career fields out there, even in a challenging economy.   • Poplar Bluff High School juniors and seniors were recently given the opportunity to participate in Preview Days during which students took a tour of Three Rivers College, received academic program overviews as well as information on federal aid. The PBHS counseling department—comprised of Susan Brown, Tamara Day, Tina Wilkins and Regina Williams—accompanied the students. In partnership with the community college, the counselors plan to host the visit annually.
